Given the opportunity to utilize a friend’s imaginative assortment of blown glass elements the need to seek a muse arose. Since my practice tends to vacillate between that of a charlatan and a wizard I chose to seek the attentions of Dorothy Gale, who, after returning to poverty in Kansas, eventually found the good sense in Baum’s sequels to permanently remove herself, Toto, Uncle Henry and Aunt Em to the Emerald City.
