Another blog post about my show in Melbourne, Australia.
AUGUST, 2010A couple of complementary posts about my exhibition at Anna Schwartz Gallery - thank you.
My exhibition, AND THEN..., opened at Anna Schwartz Gallery in Melbourne late July and ran through to late August.
JULY, 2010For the last 2 weeks of July, I was Artist in Residence at the Lock-Up Cultural Center, while still utilizing the studio down the road at the Newcastle Community Arts Center.

This very active program is housed in the old Newcastle Police Station and Gaol - one of the many fantastic examples of historical architecture on the beach end of Hunter Street in Newcastle, NSW.
The final month before my Melbourne exhibition was spent working hard as Resident Studio Artist at the Newcastle Community Arts Center. A well run local community studio facility and a great working environment.
My thanks to Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery for organizing the studio space. I will have two pieces, made during the residency in a show at the Lake Macquarie City Gallery in late September.
JUNE, 2010My time as the Ashfield City Council Artist in Residence was brought to a close with a display in the local Ashfield shopping mall of work made by the workshop participants.
The people who attended the workshops put in an amazing effort and made some really clever, interesting and fun work. One of the participants, Ian Woolf, has put some great documentation up on his website, with links to videos and a photo gallery.
The day was a real blast! For the most part passers by seemed to really enjoy it, though the image below might suggest otherwise...

I am very pleased to be the Ashfield City Council (Sydney, Australia) Artist in Residence for the next 3 months.
The 2 level historic building in the image below will be my home and studio until the end of June. The house is surrounded by tennis courts, lawn bowls and a cricket field.

My work will be featured in New York at The Armory Art Fair by Mother's Tankstation - Booth 613, Pier 94.

The major news for February is the opening of my show "Schrapnell from Märchenland" at Hilger Contemporary in Vienna, Austria.

This show features works produced in expectation of, and as a result of my trip to the Arctic, and features projects developed while sailing in that region. More will be on my website soon.
In the meantime there are some images available here.
My work is included in a show called " Sensecapes" opening in London at Nettie Horn Gallery.
More info here.
My friends at Flux Factory have opened their new space, with a show titled "House Broken". They were kind enough to let me play with a functioning conveyor belt still in the space, a remnant of the building's former life.
There will be images of this work, "Fluffy White Clouds" on my website soon.

More info at Flux Factory's website.
JANUARY, 2010The mother's tankstation mother's annual 2009 is out and I am honored to have been the artist for the cover of this, the 4th edition.

To get a copy go here.
DECEMBER, 09Please note - There was no exhibition of my work related to my trip to the Arctic Circle at Scope Art Fair in Miami, and any press releases or articles indicating this were in error. These misleading press releases were sent out without my knowledge or consent.
Showtime which is the collection of the MCA in Sydney, Australia will be shown there again in an exhibition opening December 10th celebrating the works donated by Ann Lewis AO. More here.
I will be showing a new work, "What goes around...", at the Ernst Hilger Gallery Booth at ArtBasel Miami - Booth E31.

Mother's Tankstation showed my work together with the work of Mairead O'Heocha at Artissima in Turin, Italy.
Back from an extraordinary trip to the arctic circle. For more information on this program, administered by The Farm Foundation for the Arts and Sciences go to: www.thearcticcircle.org

I recently terminated my relationship with Spencer Brownstone Gallery in New York. I am grateful for their past support and am now looking forward to new opportunities.

SEPTEMBER, 09Just finished 3 months as an artist in residence at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. An opportunity to focus in on working in a great environment and a nice studio. More information here.
