"Tadah" is a microprocessor controlled closed loop system that cycles through a 30 minute sequence of phenomenon and display, employing simple domestic appliances and tools to create its effects. Magnifying glasses are used to focus projections of the filaments of Irish fire-glow light bulbs into a loose representation of the word "TADAH". Within its structure the sculpture houses a hot-plate and kettle. Every 30 minutes the kettle is brought to the boil and the resultant steam condenses on the plexiglass sheets and obscures the projection for a time. A fan heater then switches on and this rapidly evaporates the condensation so that magically the projected "TADAH" is revealed again. At the bottom of the structure a basin of water resupplies the kettle with water automatically, via a pump, as required.
