This work places a miniature camera on the desolate landscape of the gallery wall, filming it live and placing the footage live on a widescreen TV. Placed in view is a needle stuck into the wall with a few strips of red plastic glued to it. A fan placed out of shot on a crudely made shelf flutters this miniature flag and provides the audio. Two shallow slices made in the wall with a box cutter render the possible tracks of a recently passing vehicle.
The end on-screen result is a convincing view of a desolate landscape, punctuated the ned to place a nationalistic emblem as a symbol of the colonial impulse.
